Coffee making

To find out what customers want, talk to them after they sit down. People will have an idea of what they want to order, but sometimes you can suggest a drink and change their mind. To make coffee, just use the cauldron in the upper-left corner of the room. You can carry up to two coffees on your tray, but make sure you're preparing the ones customers are actually ordering, because you'll have to start over if you get the wrong ones.

Brew serves the following types of coffee:

  • Cappuccino - Cures Bored
  • Latte - Cures Angry
  • Mocha - Cures Tense
  • Espresso - Cures Sleepy
  • Americano - Cures Glum
  • Flat White - Cures Worried

Coffee Art

Surprising people with well-crafted coffee art can do wonders for their moods. Even if you're not the most talented artist, people will still appreciate the effort-- assuming they can at least tell what you were trying to draw. You're free to create whatever your heart desires, but as residents of a small town with limited cultural institutions, customers only have enough aesthetic sense to recognize the following drawings:

Music

The radio in the upper-right of the room lets you put on one of five stations. Like art, music can soothe peoples' troubles, helping ease them into a welcoming, soothing atmosphere. Each station resolves a different mood. You can also just put on whatever music you like the best.

  • Calm Breezes   - Cures Angry
  • Adventuring Critters  - Cures Bored
  • Uplifting Shades of Orange  - Cures Glum
  • Kicking Leaves  - Cures Sleepy
  • Mellow in the Yellow Meadow  - Cures Tense

Moods

You can identify the different harmful moods people carry into the shop with them by the apparitions that appear above their heads. Curing them will make them appreciative, which they will express with increased tips. You can remedy a mood by serving the correct type of coffee, but if the customer orders something different than what they really need, you can also use music or art.

Using your witchy powers, you can sense the following auras from your customers:

  •  Bongled - Sometimes it feels like a million things are happening at once. Hard to pin down, a bongle is an emotion that even the witch has trouble reading. It is another mood in disguise! Experiment to find out what it truly could be.
  •  Angry - Anger is a burning poison that can consume someone if it builds up enough. Angry customers do not like drink suggestions or conversations and may leave earlier.
  •  Bored - In a small town like this one, everything can start to feel the same after a while. Engage people and give them something new to remind them how much else is out there. They enjoy conversation and jokes will work well!
  •  Glum - Sadness can weigh down on someone because of something that happened, like rain soaking their clothes from above, or it can appear from thin air, like condensation. However it got there, it's your job to dry it up and help people feel at least a little bit lighter.
  •  Sleepy - The best cure for sleepiness is sleeping, but at some point, humans forgot this and invented coffee-- possibly not in that order. Still, it's not your place to judge, so help your customers stay awake by boosting their energy. They do not enjoy drinks that could send them deeper into a doze.
  •  Tense - Tension stiffens the joints, worsens circulation, and narrows perspectives. Maybe someone has something intimidating ahead of them, or maybe it's just behind them and they haven't managed to relax again yet. Help people loosen up, let go, and appreciate the cool Autumn breeze. They do not enjoy energetic drinks like espressos!
  •   Worried - Worry nags and worms through the mind, chewing up happy thoughts and leaving behind doubts and fears of things that might go wrong. Pluck out worries and release them into the wild.
